IWD FFF Networking Breakfast - March 2026

Dear Members,

As the last traces of winter melt away and the first signs of spring emerge, we are delighted to invite you to our next networking breakfast, taking place on Tuesday, 24 March 2026, from 8.15am at The Delaunay.

As always, this event will provide a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow members, expand your network, share ideas, and explore collaborations in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

This year, in recognition of International Women’s Day, we are proud to support Surviving Economic Abuse (SEA) as our charity partner. This year's IWD theme is “Give to Gain” — reflecting the power of coming together to create meaningful change. By giving our attention, support and resources, we collectively gain stronger networks, greater awareness and lasting impact.

The Office for National Statistics reports that almost 30 percent of women in England and Wales have suffered some form of domestic abuse since the age of 16. Think about that for a moment — that is over one in four women.

Domestic abuse is often associated with physical violence or emotional abuse. However, it also takes the form of economic abuse. Economic abuse is about control — control of a person’s access to resources — not just money, but housing, food, transport and employment.

Without access to resources, escaping an abusive relationship becomes incredibly difficult. Victim-survivors have been coerced into debt, had credit taken out in their name without consent, had their credit ratings deliberately destroyed, and had access to bank accounts removed. How can someone rent a new home when their abuser controls their phone and bank account?

SEA campaigns to raise awareness of economic abuse and to improve responses to it, including within the legal and financial services sectors. They centre victim-survivors’ voices and experiences in everything they do.

We are delighted that Sam Smethers, CEO of SEA, will be joining us for breakfast to share more about the invaluable work carried out by the charity and how we, as professionals, can play a role in addressing economic abuse.

Domestic abuse affects women from all walks of life. We stand with all women affected by this.
