Author Hannah Salyer grew up in Maryland, which is where she fell in love with the natural world! Join us for a storytime and nature activity in celebration of her new book: We Are the Keystones.
We'll meet out on the patio to learn about some important animals, and then set out into the gardens behind the shop!

Hannah Salyer’s deep reverence for the natural world was fostered while growing up in Maryland. She brings that wonderment to her work as a multidisciplinary artist, author, educator, and gallerist. She is the illustrator of six titles and counting. Her self-authored books Packs: Strength in Numbers and Ancestory: The Mystery and Majesty of Ancient Cave Art have been called "wholly captivating” (Starred Kirkus review, PACKS), “breathtaking” (Starred Booklist review for, ANCESTORY), and “visually stunning” (Starred Publisher’s Weekly review, ANCESTORY), and have been designated as gold standard selections by Junior Library Guild. In 2023 she was chosen to be a Sendak Fellow. She lives in Brooklyn with her partner and their three cats.
