Italian Street Food Class (arancini, supplì, panzerotti)
About this Event
Italian Street Food Making Class with Chef Alex Peluso
Our Cucina con Noi series continues with a delicious hands-on Italian street food experience hosted by Chef Alex Peluso, Head Chef of the Italian Cultural Centre!
Chef Alex is passionate about sharing the rich traditions of Italian cuisine and will guide you through the techniques behind three beloved Italian street foods: arancini, supplì, and panzerotti. Arancini are the most famous street food in Sicily, while supplì are their Roman counterpart. Panzerotti are a classic fried stuffed dough from Southern Italy.
During this interactive class, you'll learn how to prepare risotto specifically for arancini and supplì, explore a variety of traditional and creative fillings, and discover the proper techniques for shaping, breading, and frying these iconic bites. Chef Alex will also guide you through the differences between arancini and supplì, including how they are made and finished.
You'll also prepare fresh panzerotti from scratch, learning how to make and handle the dough, choose flavourful fillings, properly seal each piece, and achieve a perfectly crisp, golden finish. At the end of the evening, you'll enjoy your freshly prepared creations and leave with the skills and confidence to recreate them at home.
Bring an apron, and your appetite! Feel free to bring your own bottle of wine if you'd like!
