Italia in Three Acts — Wilmington Summer Wine Dinner Series Act III · Marchesi Antinori — The Legacy
Marchesi Antinori · Thursday, August 13 · The finale ·
6:30PM ACT III · The Legacy Dinner
Antinori has been making wine in Tuscany since 1385. In 1971, they made one that changed everything.
Tignanello broke the rules — Sangiovese blended with Cabernet, aged in French oak, sold without the official appellation it was "supposed" to carry. It became the wine that rewrote Italian wine, and it's the reason the phrase Super Tuscan exists at all. You've read about it. This is the night you sit down with it.
We're closing the series with the most polished service of the three — five courses that climb from a delicate opener to the moment the entire summer has been building toward: a dry-aged steak course poured against Tignanello. Do not rush it. A chocolate close to finish, with an optional Brunello for the table that wants the long goodbye.
A single bottle of Tignanello retails for more than most people spend on a night out. Here it's one pour in a five-course evening built entirely around it.
