Islands of Change
About this Event
Join us for a walking tour exploring the natural beauty and history of both Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island.
The tour will begin at Treasure Island Museum where artifacts documenting the island’s horticultural history, including photographs and souvenirs from the Golden Gate International Exposition, will be shared.
The tour will continue outdoors, via the scenic Yerba Buena Island Trail (which has a moderate to steep incline and where it can be quite windy). We will identify and admire native California flora and fauna, as well as consider what has been introduced during the current redevelopment of the islands.
Your guides will be:
Kaile Tinoco, Wildlife Biologist and certified California Naturalist
Amanda Madden, Educator and Wilderness First Responder
Melanie Garduno, Collection Manager at Treasure Island Museum
