Art and independent artists have never been more important or more challenged — but the artists at 1890 Bryant strive to be examples of San Francisco’s resilience and constant reinvention.

The 1890 Bryant building hosts three floors of artist studios featuring seasoned artists and makers whose work has been awarded and exhibited around the world, and a dynamic community of emerging newcomers.

Visit us during ArtSpan's Open Studios weekend and see why neighbors, friends, and collectors return again and again to meet the artists, to see demonstrations of their creative processes, and to buy art directly from the source!



Building Hours:

Friday, Oct 2 – Preview Night: 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Saturday, Oct 3: 11 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Sunday, Oct 4: 11 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.



Our iconic building, once a mayo factory, houses over 100 passionate artists ready to share their vibrant creations and unique processes.

Learn from Us: Brief 20-minute demonstrations by 1890 artists and makers are offered throughout the weekend.

Easy Access: Our location is a breeze to reach via MUNI, ride-sharing, aand the weekend offers a bit more street parking. Our studios are wheelchair accessible, with doorman assistance to our elevators and restrooms on every floor. Kids and furry friends are welcome too!
