ISARC Religious Leaders Forum 2026

PERSISTENT RESISTANCE: Preparing Ourselves for the Long Haul

Guest Speakers: Margaret Prophet, Ben Earle, Mani Kakkar, Rev. Canon Simon Bell, and more.

Each year, ISARC brings together faith leaders from across Ontario for an important conversation on poverty, social assistance, and the role of faith communities in building a more just province.

There are three truths about the cost-of-living emergency we must acknowledge if we are serious about addressing it. The first is its scale and growing intensity. The second is the Ontario government's failure to adequately address it. And the third is that solidarity and advocacy require long-term commitment. This is going to take years.

Together, we can face these truths and commit ourselves to the long haul. Grounded in compassion, wisdom, and determination, we can cultivate the sustainable rhythms and creative strategies needed for lasting change.

At this year's forum, we will explore the resources within our traditions, our communities, and one another that can sustain this work over time and strengthen its impact.

Event Highlights:
  • Morning Keynote Speakers: Margaret Prophet, Ben Earle
  • Afternoon Keynote Speakers: Mani Kakkar and guest
