IRATA Rope Access Training in Belfast – Levels 1, 2 & 3
Complete your IRATA rope access training in Belfast at Dangle Academy, a dedicated industrial rope access training centre in Northern Ireland.
Our IRATA rope access course includes five full days of instructor-led practical training, followed by an independent IRATA assessment on Day 6.
Training is available for new entrants completing the IRATA Level 1 course, as well as experienced rope access technicians progressing through an IRATA Level 2 upgrade or IRATA Level 3 upgrade.
IRATA Level 1 Rope Access Training
The IRATA Level 1 course is the starting point for anyone looking to begin a career as an industrial rope access technician. No previous rope access experience is required.
Candidates develop the fundamental rope access techniques, equipment knowledge, working methods and rescue skills required at Level 1.
IRATA Level 2 Rope Access Training
The IRATA Level 2 course is designed for qualified Level 1 technicians who meet the applicable IRATA experience and logged-hours requirements.
Training develops more advanced rigging, rescue and rope access skills in preparation for independent assessment.
IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Training
The IRATA Level 3 course is for experienced Level 2 technicians progressing towards supervisory responsibilities.
Training covers advanced rigging, rescue techniques, worksite management, legislation, risk assessment and the responsibilities of an IRATA Level 3 safety supervisor.

Course Location
Training takes place at Dangle Academy in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Our dedicated rope access training centre provides a realistic practical environment for candidates preparing to work within construction, inspection, maintenance, offshore, energy and other industrial sectors.
Entry Requirements
Candidates must be aged 18 or over and physically fit for rope access training. A medical self-declaration is required.
No previous rope access experience is required for the IRATA Level 1 course.
Candidates booking an IRATA Level 2 or Level 3 upgrade must hold valid certification at the previous level and meet the applicable IRATA experience and verified logged-hours requirements. Upgrade candidates must provide their current IRATA certificate and completed logbook before training begins.
