Summer Wednesdays just got a lot more harmonious! Join IPR at The Little Fleet every Wednesday from July 1 through August 5 for a spectacular series of free, live concerts. Featuring an incredible lineup of talented artists, these evenings are designed to pair perfectly with your favorite food truck eats and local brews.
July 1st - OUT Ensemble - Based out of Ann Arbor, MI, the OUT ensemble is a wind quintet committed to increasing the representation of LGBTQ+ composers and performers in classical music, and wants to inspire listeners to embrace their authentic identities. In fact, they’re coming to us freshly off a tour of presenting their album, Seasons of Change, in concert around Michigan.
July 8th - Katarina String Quartet - Based in New York, The Katarina Quartet has been all over the world this year, but is here with IPR this July as part of the Sound Garden Project. Their core belief is that it is impossible to make art alone, and they make music that invokes recollections of home and community.
July 15th - Archipelago Project - Participants of the Archipelago Project’s Musical Innovation and Leadership Academy, a leadership and chamber music program held annually in Traverse City, will be joining us for this Classical Happy Hour. The objectives of the Project is to develop music students into ambassadors for the local community, and to teach students to fuse musical styles and cultures into unique concerts.
July 22nd - TC Dance Project - The Traverse City Dance Project is a collaborative platform for dancers, choreographers, musicians, and composers that is committed to bringing accessible and engaging dance performances to Northern Michigan. You can find the dancers and choreographers around Northern Michigan towns this July.
July 29th - Kyle Stachnik & Joe Skerik - Cellist Kyle Stachnik and violist Joe Skerik, artistic directors of the Vidrian Strings chamber music group, are Interlochen Arts Academy alumni that return to Northern Michigan every summer to bring chamber music to the area. Engaging and collaborative, these two bring world-class musicians together each summer to make chamber music together with concerts through August of this year.
August 5th - Mad Angler Trio - Duo Michael Delp and Crispin Campbell are both retired Interlochen Center for the Arts instructors, and perform with Delp reading selections of poetry while Campbell improvises on the cello. Inspired by nature, particularly fishing and water, the duo’s work centers on the link between art and sense of place.
