IOSH Evacuation Chair Train the Trainer

Slanjava Learning Ltd is pleased to host the IOSH Evacuation Chair Train the Trainer course, a practical one-day programme designed for individuals who wish to train others in the safe use of evacuation chairs.

This nationally recognised IOSH-accredited course provides the technical knowledge of evacuation chair operation alongside the training skills required to deliver engaging, compliant, and effective evacuation chair training. Delegates will take part in hands-on practice, explore key legislation, and gain confidence in planning and delivering their own sessions.

This was the first IOSH-accredited programme of its kind and remains the benchmark for evacuation chair training in the UK.

• Internal workplace trainers – staff responsible for delivering in-house evacuation chair training to colleagues.
• External trainers – those delivering evacuation chair training commercially. To train externally, participants should hold a recognised training qualification such as AET (Award in Education and Training) or equivalent, and have appropriate insurance.

• Nationally recognised training – accredited by IOSH, the world’s largest professional body for health and safety.
• Bring skills in-house – reducing reliance on external training providers and offering cost savings.
• Practical focus – extensive hands-on practice with different chair types.
• Expert tuition – delivered by a highly experienced instructor.

By the end of the course, participants will:

• Understand how to safely use evacuation chairs.
• Be confident in training others in safe chair use.
• Be familiar with legislation and responsibilities (including PEEPs and chair inspections).
• Be able to design and deliver effective, interactive training sessions.

On successful completion, delegates will receive the IOSH Evacuation Chair Train the Trainer certificate and a supporting course manual.
