About this Event

Tom Burke Preserve, though only 7.5 acres, is a dynamic preserve bursting with biodiversity. Half meadow, half wetland forest, the preserve is home to a variety of native flowers, shrubs, trees and grasses, all of which make Tom Burke a haven to the pollinators that support our ecosystems.

WLT’s stewardship staff is hard at work this year to improve pollinator habitat at Tom Burke Preserve, and much of this work includes removing invasive species from the preserve to allow native species regeneration.

This month, joining us in these efforts is Fat and Sassy Goats! WLT has hired this goat grazing company to help us remove invasive species at the preserve. The goats eat most of the leafy invasives, weakening the plants and slowing their growth, making it much easier for us to remove the plants after.

Join Conservation Tech Stella and Land Steward Brendan for a morning of invasive removal, learning about the land, meeting the goats, and having fun!
