A Celebration of Mianus River Gorge's Rod Christie

Please join us for a night under the stars (and a tent) to celebrate Rod Christie's retirement and his remarkable contributions to land conservation and science education over nearly 30 years of service to our community.

Enjoy a festive, community-centered celebration with libations, light bites, and pizza from oHHo/Pizza Girls NY on the historic Bedford Village Green.

Under Rod's visionary guidance, Mianus River Gorge has achieved remarkable milestones, including earning accreditation from the Land Trust Alliance, raising $15 million to preserve properties critical to the health of the Mianus watershed, founding the Ecology Research Program with award-winning research with high school, undergraduate, and graduate students, and championing facility expansion and updates to include a classroom, lab, and meeting space to better serve students and the community.

NOTE: Our celebration of Rod begins just after the conclusion of one of our Bedford Field Notes speaker series events, featuring forest ecologist, bestselling author, and digital storyteller Ethan Tapper. Ethan will join Rod in a lively conversation about Forests, moderated by CBS Sunday Morning's David Pogue.
