Invasive Plant Removal in the Alewife Brook Reservation

On Friday, June 26th, Green Cambridge will host a free Volunteer Invasive Plant Removal Event in the Alewife Brook Reservation.
All supplies for removal, including gloves, bags, and any needed tools, will be provided by Green Cambridge.

Note to participants: This event will include outdoor manual labor and require frequent bending up and down. These events are not suitable for young children. Older children are welcome with supervision.
Event Details:
- Event: Invasive Removal Event in the Alewife Brook Reservation
- Location: Alewife Brook Reservation DCR Parking Lot, 2-8 Acorn Park Dr., Cambridge, MA
- Date: June 26th, 2026 ,10:30 AM - 12:30 PM (Eastern Time)
- Please arrive with closed-toed shoes, water, and weather-appropriate clothing. (Recommended long pants as we will be working in wooded areas where ticks will be present)
Parking and Transportation info:
- We will be meeting at 2-8 Acorn Park Drive, Cambridge, MA 02140. This is in front of the DCR parking lot, which has free parking specifically for the Alewife.
- If this lot fills up, there is parking at the MBTA Alewife Station for a fee; the station also makes the area very accessible via the Red Line.
- Ride the Redline inbound to the last stop at Alewife Station, exiting the station, you are able to walk along Steel Place Drive towards the reservation and turn onto the second left marked by a DCR Alewife Brook Greenway sign. Walk down this path until you find the DCR Alewife Brook Reservation Kiosk (in total, a 5~7 minute walk).
