Introduction to UDL PreK-12: Self-Directed Online Course (New for 2025!)

Dive into the world of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) with this self-directed, online course tailored for educators spanning PreK-12. This interactive course is designed to empower educators with the knowledge, skills, and strategies to effectively implement UDL principles in their learning environment, fostering inclusive, engaging, and accessible learning spaces that cater to the diverse needs of all students.

Using the UDL framework and its practical guidelines, participants will learn to:

• Define the UDL principles and guidelines and demonstrate a clear understanding of the UDL framework.
• Apply UDL principles and guidelines to design inclusive and accessible learning experiences for diverse learners in various teaching contexts.
• Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of UDL implementation in a variety of teaching contexts.
• Create lesson plans that integrate UDL principles and resources, and that are inclusive and accessible for diverse learners in various teaching contexts, demonstrating the practical application of UDL strategies in the classroom.
• Address areas for improvement in their own teaching practice.
• Develop a comprehensive UDL implementation plan for their classrooms, incorporating UDL resources from CAST.
• Reflect on personal growth and learning throughout the course and set goals for continued professional development in the area of Universal Design for Learning.

This online course is designed for those who prefer to explore the content at their own pace. The course is completely self-guided and includes 10 digital modules. Each module of the course varies and will include a mix of readings, multimedia, activities, discussion board posts, and deliverable assignments. The coursework is the equivalent of 45 contact hours.

Upon completion of the 3 month enrollment, participants will receive an email that contains a printable PDF of an official CAST certificate.

Tuition: $1000 per person

You can take this course at any time. Upon enrollment, you will have 3 months to access and complete the course. After 3 months, you will no longer have access and your account will be closed.Course extensions are only permitted in the case of illness, and a doctor’s note will be required.
