Introduction to the Sewing Machine - FREE workshop
About this Event
This 2 hour session is for complete beginners and those who haven't used a machine for years and would like a refresher.
After an introduction to the anatomy and controls on the machine, you will learn how to:
- Wind a bobbin and thread the machine;
- Sew a variety of stitches and seams;
- Sew a seam allowance accurately;
- Create gathers.
You will then, depending on your skill level, complete a small project to practice and demonstrate your skills.
All equipment and materials are provided.
Places are limited to 6. If you have your own machine AND it has been PAT tested within the last 12 months please contact us directly ([email protected])as we may be able to accomodate you.
Your tutor Wendy is a very experienced sewer and dressmaker. She teaches regulary at her dressamking club and private workshops. She can also be seen on Sewing Street every 2 months demonstrating dressmaking.
