What is Playback Theatre?
Join us to explore Playback Theatre, a form of improv storytelling practiced in over 80 countries, using sound and movement to bring true personal stories to life.
Playback Theatre strengthens Spontaneity, Embodiment, Deep Listening, Empathy, Play, Authentic Connection and Community.
No experience needed. No story is too small! All voices & bodies welcome.
Who does Playback Theatre?
Community builders, organisers, leaders, facilitators, activists, artists, actors, musicians, dancers, writers, storytellers: anyone can!
Why do Playback Theatre?
Stories make us who we are and connect us to others.
When we hear and act out each other’s stories, we can better understand ourselves and our world.
What will we do?
In the workshop we will warm up to our bodies, voices and each other. We will explore some improv skills and learn the basic forms of Playback Theatre and try it. You can participate as much as you want or take time to watch if you need.
Hosted at Free Bird Cafe CNX Social Enterprise restaurant in Nimman.
Led by Tina Wu and Johnnie Jablonka, Playback Theatre practitioners from China and Australia.
