Introduction to Navigation on Ilkley Moor

If you are a complete beginner or just wanting to refresh your skills then come an join us for this navigation session on Ilkley Moor. Alpkit have teamed up with MD Adventures, qualified hill and moorland leaders to deliver this 4-hour session. On the day you will cover basic map reading, understanding access rights, scales and grid references, symbols and basic compass skills to set the map. The walk will cover 5/6km with some rough and steep sections.

You will need to meet at the store at 8:45am where you can have a tea or coffee before heading onto the hill with the leaders.

Please bring with you:

• A flask of hot drink
• Appropriate clothing (waterproofs and walking boots)
• OS map 297 and a compass. If either of these are a problem then we may have one available at the store to lend you, please give us a ring on 01943 597577.
