Introduction to Nature Journaling at Greenway Farms

In this class, we'll explore techniques to deepen our observation and experience of the outdoors by drawing. You will be immersed in the beauty of Reflection Riding Center's forests as you practice using art as a tool for mindfulness, connection, and wonder.

Artists of all levels are welcome in this beginner-friendly class! All art supplies included. We will use shared drawing materials, though sketchbooks will be yours to take home and keep.

Please note: We will meet at the Dog Park at Greenway Farms and go from there.

About the teacher:

Shannon Leo Bodeau is an artist, ecologist, environmental educator, and farmer who has been helping people connect with nature for over a decade. He holds degrees in both evolutionary biology and drawing, and has led students in outdoor discovery throughout Tennessee and North Carolina. Shannon believes that the arts can awaken us to our deep connection with the natural world, with one another, and with ourselves.
