About this Event
Please note: This workshop has been moved to Southern Utah University's Science Center at 370 W. 200 S. in Cedar City, UT. We'll meet in room 122.
Join us for a 2-3 hour workshop where we’ll learn about fungal biology and ecology, mushroom cultivation, culinary uses of mushrooms, and further ideas for working with fungi. You will leave with a solid understanding of how fungi grow and interact with their environment, how to cultivate mushrooms at home, and how to safely enjoy mushrooms as food. You will also leave with a list of resources for further learning, and new ideas for working with fungi beyond this class. Please note, while we will cover some regional fungi and physical features of mushrooms, this is not a mushroom identification class.
What to bring and expect: This is a 3-4 hour class. We will provide snacks and drinks. You will be provided with a workbook and assemble a mushroom grow bucket to take home.
Please note: This is a kid-friendly event, but anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All children must be registered.
Please, no walk-ins!
Parking is along 300 West, between 100 & 200 South. Enter through the East entrance to the building. Room 122 is the first one inside.
