Determining level of placement; Risks of perpetrating behavior; Therapeutic approaches and specialized interventions of sexual misconduct; Investigative practices; Explore why a high percentage of sexually abused teens may exhibit aggressive or destructive tendencies; Labels around sexual offending; Social media risks, etc.

12:00 - 1:00 pm | Foster Parent Presentation joining DCFS Staff, Licensing, Community Partners, and Level 3 Foster Parents.
What is normal or typical sexual behavior; Ensuring safety of the children in the home; How to report abuse without feeling at fault or fearing a removal of the child; What/how to determine and set appropriate boundaries; How to manage sexually reactive behaviors; Ways of showing affection in non-sexual ways; Protection against false allegations; Difficulties/challenges in caring for children with sexual trauma; How to discuss healthy sexual identity; In-home practices that keep children safe; Signs of sexualized behaviors and re-enactment of sexualized behaviors; Knowledge of sexual concepts; Managing disclosures and reporting of abuse.
