About this Event
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an effective, empirically supported method for reducing physical and psychological suffering while building resilience, balance, and peace of mind.
Over forty years of research suggests the majority of people who complete the MBSR curriculum report:
- Reductions in stress and emotional reactivity
- Loosening of the grip of negative habits and thought patterns
- Improved self-compassion and self-care
- Better management of anxiety and depression
- Decreased pain and medical symptoms
- Improvements to overall well-being
In this free 1.5-hour session, participants will be introduced to a working definition of mindfulness, learn how moment-to-moment awareness is cultivated, its empirically-supported benefits, and receive an overview of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program.
