About this Event
Join us at Forage & Faire for an engaging workshop led by Shawn, where we'll explore the world of herbalism and its timeless role in health and wellbeing. Drawing from multiple traditions—including Ayurvedic, Traditional Chinese, Indigenous, and Western herbalism—Shawn will share how herbs have shaped medicine throughout history and how we can use them today to support our bodies in a more natural, integrative way. You’ll discover the basics of herbal preparations like tinctures, teas, decoctions, and salves, and learn why herbs in their whole, natural forms can be so powerful.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or already dabbling in at-home remedies, this workshop will equip you with the practical know-how to build your own herbal apothecary. We’ll cover everything from ethical wildcrafting and sourcing quality herbs to proper storage and labeling. By the end, you’ll have a clearer understanding of how to incorporate herbs into your everyday life, reduce reliance on pharmaceuticals when appropriate, and cultivate a deeper connection to the healing power of plants.
This workshop will be hosted at Forage & Faire (2635 W Railway St in Abbotsford BC) on January 23rd from 6:30 - 8:30pm. The workshop will include a Q&A portion at the end. Tickets are $25 per person and include a copy of the workshop notes, an at-home apothecary starter set for each attendee as well as a 10% discount on housemade herbs, tinctures and aromatherapy.
