Introduction to Glass Arts 6-week Artist Series
About this Event
Starts September 17th (Thursdays from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for six weeks.)
Discover the beauty of glass art in this fun and welcoming six-week class designed for beginners and those with some experience. Learn two popular glass art techniques while creating beautiful handmade pieces to take home.
Weeks 1–3: Fused Glass Jewelry
Explore the colorful world of fused glass as you design and create unique jewelry-sized pieces. You’ll learn how to cut and layer glass, work with frit and decorative elements, and create pendants, earrings, or small keepsakes. Your projects will be kiln-fired between classes and finished with jewelry findings.
Weeks 4–6: Stained Glass
Build on your new glass skills by learning the copper foil stained glass technique. You’ll cut, grind, foil, and solder glass to create a beautiful stained glass suncatcher and/or ornament.
No previous glass experience is necessary—just bring your creativity and a willingness to learn!
You will leave the series with several fused glass jewelry pieces and a handcrafted stained glass project, along with the confidence to continue exploring the art of glass.
Materials are not included in the class price. The materials kit is $50 and can be purchased from the instructor with cash or check at the first class.
6-week Series Cost - Non-members: $300 for 6 weeks / Members: $240
