About this Event

Sunday, October 4th from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

In this workshop, students will learn the steps to simplify the process of acrylic landscape painting. Skills and techniques that will be covered include preparing your canvas and what makes a good composition--from layout, shapes, and color choices. Beginner and intermediate painters welcome! If you haven't painted in a long time, but would like to get back into it, this is the workshop for you!

$125 workshop fee does not include materials. A list of recommended supplies can be found below the instructor bio or emailed upon request.

NOTE: Eventbrite charges non-refundable processing fees for online payments and now displays these fees in the total ticket price shown on this event listing.

Instructor bio: Terry Wilson says, "Life tends to come full circle. 10 years ago, I took some acrylic painting glasses with Catherine Bickford, at Artascope, and I never stopped. I have studied under dozens of artists since first picking up a paintbrush."

*11 x 14 or 12 x 16 canvas panels or stretched canvas

* an assortment of brushes; round, flat and angled…..anywhere from a 1/2” up to an 1 1/2, your choice. I tend to work with a lot of half inch to inch flat and angled brushes primarily.

* I like to use a Masterson‘s wet pallet and also a pad of Grey Matters paper, 12 x 16 for mixing. (Alternatively, get the gray pallet paper if you’re just starting out and place it in a small cookie sheet.)

* a container for water

* an apron

* a small spray bottle

* a couple of pallet knives in plastic is fine. They are primarily for mixing.

* 18 inch ruler

* paper towels

* vine, charcoal or charcoal, pencils, just to sketch in your composition

* a drawing pencil, and a small pad of paper for sketching and notes

* paints - I primarily use Golden heavy body acrylic paint but I also like Lukas. It is really your preference.
