Cyanotype is an early photographic printing process yielding beautiful prussian blue prints on hand coated paper. A brief history of the process will start the activities before coating paper, gathering material from the garden (feel free to bring your own inspirational items from home to use, including lace doilies, pressed flowers, or other FLAT or translucent materials) and then exposing and developing the prints. Time permitting we will also try toning and hand coloring prints with botanicals and watercolors, as well as exploring digital negatives to make cyanotypes. Please send one digital file of your choice to:
[email protected] one week prior to the workshop. Aprons will be provided (cyanotype chemicals will stain clothes!) Materials Fee includes paper and chemistry.
