About this Event
Experience an interactive and practical workshop created for everyday people who want to care well for others in hard places. Gain a practical understanding on how trauma impacts children and adults in your community and some essential skills to meaningfully care.
In partnership with Trauma Free World and background in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), their Canadian collective of Christian certified trainers share extensive professional and personal experience working with children, families and adults. They are passionate about helping churches and communities thrive in informed radical compassion.

Facilitator Bio: Amy Jo Smith is an Early Childhood Educator living in Ottawa with experience as an In-Home Caregiver, Foster Respite Provider, Educational Assistant, Kindergarten Educator, Camp Counsellor, and Children’s Ministry leader. She loves to share her passion for creating communities of belonging for children of all abilities. Amy Jo is a Trust Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) Practitioner with the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development, an Affiliate Trainer with Trauma Free World and holds a Certificate in Special Needs Resource Consulting. She believes deeply in the power of connected relationships to bring healing and help children to thrive.
