Intro to Leatherworking with Landmark Leather Co.
You'll use Full Grain, fine Italian leather from Badalassi Carlo Tannery in Italy to craft a one or two color cardholder. You'll also learn about the basics of leather work, including design, selecting leather hides and thicknesses, and more!
You'll practice the following techniques as you create your cardholder:
- Cutting leather panels after tracing a template with an awl
- Burnishing edges
- Glueing panels together
- Trimming and sanding
- Punching stitching holes
- The saddle stitch
- Finishing
All the neccesary tools and materials will be provided, so just come with your creativity, and get ready to learn a new skill! You'll leave class with a better understanding of the leatherworking process, and a new cardholder you've crafted yourself.
