About this Event
Take your 2D and 3D designs and turn it into an engraved piece of wood or plastic, and soft metals like brass and aluminum!
This class will cover basic concepts of CNC routers and how they work. We will guide attendees through the design of a name plaque carved from soft wood. Then will we take our designs and load them onto the CNC router and go over setup of the machine, what to watch for when running it, and proper clean-up once it done.
The software we use for designing and preparing code for the CNC Routers is called VCarve Pro. You can download a trial of on their website here to try and get a feel for it.
If you would like to take a class that focuses on design after taking this class, please contact the organizer or the makerspace to arrange a one-on-one class for $100.
Other software we have available at the makerspace for making GCode: CamBam, F-Engrave, and Autodesk Fusion 360.
This class needs a minimum of 2 attendees to run.
Open to ages 18 and up
