About this Event
Learn the basics of turning simple spindles on the wood lathe in this 2 person class!
Topics covered will be basic safety, technique, tools, preparing your stock, and basic finishing.
This class serves as safety training for those who have not used the lathe before. After this class you can use the lathe at the Makerspace and continue to practice and learn on your own!
Attendees are required to watch the following videos prior to class. These cover much of the important safety aspects and basics of wood turning, and will help you make the most of the hands-on time in the class.

Attendees should wear workshop appropriate gear - clothing that is not baggy or loose, long pants, boots or other closed toe shoes, hair-tie for long hair, light duty work gloves, safety glasses and hearing protection. We recommend you bring your own safety gear, but we have safety equipment available for you.
This class needs a minimum of 1 attendee to run
Open to ages 18 and up
