Intro to Block Printing Workshop with Matt Hassan

Try your hand at printmaking in this beginner-friendly block printing workshop led by exhibiting artist Matt Hassan!

This hands-on, relaxing creative experience will guide participants step-by-step through the process of carving a custom design into a printing block, inking it, and creating original prints to take home. Whether you’re completely new to printmaking or simply looking for a creative night out, this workshop is designed to be approachable, low-pressure, and fun for all experience levels. We'll have a cash bar available to purchase water, snacks, and soda while you create!

All materials are included.

The workshop takes place during , Matt Hassan’s solo exhibition at EventThem Studios. The exhibit explores identity, memory, and reconnection through artwork created before and after Matt’s first trip back to Korea since being adopted. Guests attending the workshop will also have the opportunity to experience the exhibition and engage more deeply with the artist’s creative practice and personal story.

Matt Hassan 최경수 is a multidisciplinary artist whose recent work reflects on cultural identity and the Korean adoptee experience. Through both the exhibition and workshop, Matt invites participants into a space of creativity, reflection, and connection through artmaking.
