Changing Landscapes: Bellevue Pond Water Quality Training and Site Walk

Join us on Thursday, June 25th from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM for a water quality training and site walk led by staff from the Mystic River Watershed Association. This event is part of the Fells Water Walks, a guided walk series that partners with the Mystic River Watershed Association and the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority to explore the Fells' various water features and their importance in shaping the history, ecology and landscape at the Fells. Hike Leaders: Jennifer Delgado, MyRWA Watershed Field Scientist, and Summer Fellows Sydney Taylor, Jasiah Ortega, Isa Tutter, and Sarah Neal.
Pace: Slow
Difficulty: Slow/Moderate, with some rocky inclines with uneven surfaces.
Appropriate for: All. Children ages 10+ welcome if accompanied by an adult.

About the walk: Join Jennifer Delgado and summer fellows, Sydney Taylor, Jasiah Ortega, Isa Tutter, and Sarah Neal for a walk at Bellevue Pond to talk about water and water quality. Topics will include changing landscapes, the struggle with pollution that can arise from these changes, and the effects of drought in places like Boston. There will also be an opportunity to learn and practice taking dissolved oxygen water quality samples and comparing it at different ends of the pond.
Meet at the Bellevue Pond parking lot located on South Border Road, Medford. Please arrive early, as the parking lot can fill quickly.
