Maria started training when she was 13 yrs old in Villari’s Shaolin kenpo karate and continued until she was in her early 20s achieving her 3rd degree black belt in their system. She then trained with several Shaolin weapons during her decade there.
She then went on to train Capoeira , a Brazilian martial art designed to look like a dance, which she have been doing for several years. She also has done Sca fencing. 🤺
She has just always loved Martial arts. It’s an art form with martial intent. The beauty of the style, especially Shaolin attracts her heart. In Capoeria the appeal is the community mentality , the connected ness and playful aspect of that art, very different from the eastern Asian arts studied which were all about discipline and not so much smiling 😂.
Can’t help but smile when she performs martial arts , it’s fun, She finds she enjoys it most these days doing it with other people.
This event is Free and RSVP only. There is limited space and want to make sure everyone has room. This an at your own risk activity, but not dangerous. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
