Intersections by Ashok Bhowmick

Intersections brings together five decades of work by senior Indian artist Ashok Bhowmick, marking his first solo exhibition in Bangalore. Presented by Artisera in collaboration with Dhoomimal Gallery, the exhibition features paintings, drawings and sculptures spanning the artist’s evolving practice.

Known for his distinctive cross-hatching technique, Bhowmick creates works through thousands of individual lines, building depth, light, shadow and form. His recurring subjects include workers and coal miners, birds, animals and the figure of Amina, with the human figure remaining central to his visual language.

Bringing works from different periods and mediums into dialogue, Intersections explores the threads that connect Bhowmick’s five-decade practice, moving between figuration and abstraction, observation and imagination.
