International Overdose Awareness Day "Comox Valley Remembers"

Join us as we gather for International Overdose Awareness Day to honor, remember, and stand together as a community.
Since the toxic drug crisis was declared a public health emergency in 2016, we have lost far too many beloved family members, friends, and neighbors. Comox Valley Remembers is a space to come together to remember those we’ve lost, support those left behind, reduce stigma, and foster hope.
We will open and ground our time together with Indigenous representation and community presence. Throughout the event, we will hear powerful personal stories from people with lived experience, alongside guest speakers including Gord Johns (MP, Courtenay-Alberni).
The event will feature live entertainment with recovery-focused music and songs, including our very own MORGAN MURRAY! Check him out on spotify.
Danny Snyder will be on acoustics throughout the event.
You will also have the opportunity to connect with local support organizations at community tables hosted by groups such as AVI, SOLID, BAB, Stepping Stones, Moms Stop the Harm and others. Additionally, life-saving Naloxone and Narcan training will be provided on-site through the Caravan.
We will be holding a MOMENT OF SILENCE @ 1pm.
There will hotdogs by donation to support "The Village Recovery House" for mens second stage, pop, and free ice cream bars.
All are welcome to join us as we remember, reflect, and work toward a safer community together.
