CVEX World of Dogs - Rotary Bowl Aug 29th

Call for participants in The World of Dogs! Held Saturday August 29th in conjunction with the Comox Valley Exhibition.
The CVEX theme is agriculture, and many breeds have been vital in helping farmers herd, guard, control pests and hunt. This is a great opportunity for us to celebrate dogs and the important work that purpose bred purebreds have done for centuries.
One of the highlights this year will be a mid day parade (time TBD) "Around the World of Dogs" showing the incredible diversity of dog breeds from around the globe. Would you like to feature your breed?
During the parade, participants will have the opportunity to showcase their dogs while a brief introduction is read to the audience. If your dog enjoys performing tricks or mingling with the front row, we encourage you to include that as part of your presentation.
To register your breed in the parade, prepare a brief 1-3 minute description to be read. Breed, country of origin, dating back to, original purpose, one or two interesting facts, and what they enjoy to do today. Invite your breed friends, I would love to see a few of each breed together.
After the parade, the public will be invited to the rotary bowl to meet some of the breeds. We hope to have a variety of breeds and displays, and people to engage with the public.
The World of Dogs is located in the Rotary Bowl, adjacent to the Comox Valley Exhibition grounds. Day tenting space will be available for the dogs registered (no public pets), space for club tents and educational displays, a performance ring for other events in planning such as, Flyball, scent detection and tracking. Let your fellow breed and sport enthusiasts know, we would love for you to join us in celebrating the World of Dogs.
Educational Board Display Contest!
As a 4-H alum, I am holding an Ed-board contest open to everyone. Create 3 panel foam board display, on your favourite dog related topic. Teach us something fun, unusual, or educational about dogs. Breed information, original purpose, dog sports and activities, etc... Photos and fun facts make an interesting, quick to read ed-board. Submit entries to Christine Yake by August 20th.
