About this Event
Expand your embroidery skill by creating a one of a kind sampler. A stitch sampler is a traditional piece of needlework that allows the stitcher to practice or demonstrate stitches and patterns. Samplers record progress, an event, or a memory. They may include alphabets, decoration or text. In this class we will look at traditional sampler layouts. You will work up your own small design using the stitches learned in Embroidery Basics and begin stitching. Please bring an idea, an image or an example as a starting point. Contemporary and historical examples can be found online. If you have a special piece of cloth or threads you would like to use, please bring them.
Materials: Fabric, embroidery hoop, needle and threads are included. Consider bringing your own small sewing scissors.
