Interfusion Acro Intensive: Whip-carian Series
Are you passionate about the world of acrobatics and want to take your icarian skills to the next level? If so, our Interfusion Acro Intensive is the perfect opportunity for you! Join John Thorpe and Jenae Brianne for three days of specialized instruction to take your whips and pops to the next level.
Workshop Highlights
Day 1 - Precision Icarian
The first day we will focus on cleaning up Icarian skills to make them precise and tempo-able. Expect to refine skills you have done before - working towards mastery of these skills. We will also incorporate some unique pops and drills you may not have worked on before! This lesson will build towards linking skills together for seamless icarian flows.

Day 2 - Whip Mastery
We will work towards building whip technique for more dynamic skills. We have specific techniques that we have learned from teachers all over the world as well as developed through our own training that we love to share. This lesson will give you a deeper understanding of these skills and all of the building blocks needed for progressing toward more dynamic whip pops. We will touch on nervous system regulation, dynamic spotting, and how to keep these skills safe.

Day 3 - Jump Start your Whip Pops
Whether you’ve done a handful of whip pops, or you’re still working towards your first one, this class will have content for you. We will have a short recap of the first two lessons leading into dynamic entries in and out of whips. Multiple levels of content will be offered and students can work at their own pace. Our goal is to offer a clear and safe pathway - it is most important to us for our students to learn when they are ready for the next progression, and when they need to continue repping out certain drills.

Prior Exposure to Skills
To fully enjoy and benefit from this workshop, it would be advantageous if you have some prior exposure to the following skills:
Straight throws in bird and throne
Bird/reverse bird
Thron/reverse throne
Some experience attempting whips
Basic icarian transitions (bird to throne)
Skill Level:
This event is well-suited for advanced beginners to strong intermediates.

About the Instructors:
Jenae Brianne is an AcroLove teacher and creator who believes that acro is a powerful way to build community. Jenae empowers students to build a sustainable, long-term practice through effective communication, strong fundamentals, and pattern recognition. Jenae enjoys all genres of acro but excels in Icarian, whips, standing dynamics and free balancing. She is a fan of unique flows and sequences and wants to help students approach their practice with creativity. She runs her own acro festival in Colombia and runs a circus-themed Burning Man camp.
John Thorpe is an AcroLove teacher, the owner of The MVMT Collective, in Meriden, Connecticut, and is passionate about sharing the benefits of movement. With over a decade of experience as a movement instructor, he began his journey in powerlifting and then diversifying into various disciplines such as snowboarding, aerial straps, rock climbing, and hand balancing. While John enjoys many forms of movement, partner acro drew him in because of the connections, community, and playfulness of the practice. John loves diving into the intricacies of partner acrobatics in all its forms. You can catch him crafting swift and seamless washing machines, executing precise whipops, and unveiling distinctive Icarian skills.
In order to participate, it is necessary to have a full pass for the Festival. After securing your festival pass, you can use this ticket to apply for the intensive. After submitting your application and responding to the check-out questions in full, your request will be assessed by the Interfusion Acro Team. If additional information is required it will be communicated to you by email. If you do not meet the qualifications for the intensive this year, you will receive a full refund of the intensive ticket.
