About this Event
Join us for a full day of learning, reflection, and practical skill-building designed specifically for afterschool professionals. Led by The Flourish Lab's Erica Mack, this professional development experience invites participants to explore the powerful connection between feelings, behavior, and the environments we create for young people.
The day begins with a foundational look at why behaviors are deeply human — and how every behavior starts with a feeling. From there, participants dive into The Feeling Factor, discovering how an intentional social-emotional learning (SEL) mindset can transform the way we build relationships, show up for youth, and plan our work. The day wraps up with hands-on, practical tools across three core areas — relationships, planning, and presence — giving staff concrete strategies they can bring back to their sites immediately, including a quick-access tool for reading the room in any youth space. Lunch included.
