Integrated Assessment Tool

From 1 July 2024, the Integrated Assessment Tool (IAT) replaced the National Aged Care Screening and Assessment Form (NSAF) and has become the way older people are assessed for eligibility for government-subsidised aged care. Understanding this change is fundamental in preparing your home care service for future reforms.

The change to the IAT will allow assessors the
opportunity to collect more complete information about the older person and
ensure service recommendations and referrals are tailored to their current
needs.  It will also allow providers to align their current assessments to
the new tool.  

The use of recognised assessment tools is essential
because older adults often present diverse and intricate care requirements
across various domains of health and well-being. These tools help in
systematically evaluating factors such as physical health, mental well-being,
functional abilities, social interactions, and spiritual needs. 

The 2-hour training session, delivered online will cover:
