About this Event
The World Affairs Council of Western Massachusetts will present an Instant Issues lunchtime discussion with author and journalist Okey Ndibe, on Nigeria: Between Hope and Hopelessness. The program will take place on Thursday, January 29 from noon to 1 pm at 1350 Main Street, 9th Floor Gallery, in downtown Springfield.
Okey Ndibe is the author of the novels Arrows of Rain and Foreign Gods, Inc. and the memoir Look an American in the Eye. An awardwinning journalist, Ndibe has taught as a Fulbright scholar at the University of Lagos, and as a visiting professor at Brown University, Connecticut College, Bard College at Simon’s Rock, Trinity College, Connecticut, St. Lawrence University, and the University of Massachusetts--Amherst.
For those who purchase a meal, box lunches with a choice of sandwich--turkey, tuna, roast beef, vegetarian--will be available (first come, first served). Lunches also include deli salad, a cookie, chips, and soda or water. (Attendees may bring their own lunch or choose not to eat.)
