Decatur Area Poets will be releasing their first anthology which will feature poets in Decatur as well as across the state of Illinois, including the finalists in the first ever Decatur-Wide High School Poetry Competition! These students will read their poems along with some other local poets and then we will announce the Top 3 Student Poets who will win a prize. Thank you, WAND TV, for sponsoring the competition! We also thank the Illinois State Poetry Society for being the judges! All eight student poets will be published in the anthology and we will have copies of the book available for purchase at this event. Authors who are present may be available for autographs as well. This is a FREE event, but bring some cash to buy a book or two! We will be meeting in the Madden Auditorium at the Decatur Public Library, and the event starts at 1:00 pm!
