About this Event
The focus for this in-person mini-conference encompasses considerations of the current challenges faced in post-compulsory education. Drawing inspiration from past and ongoing forms of resistance and transformation, it will open up opportunities for reimagining the future. Join us to engage with cutting-edge research, rich discussions, inspiration and creative interventions. This is an Education Social Justice and Transformation research group event funded by CEISR. Keynote speakers for the conference are historian Dr Jodi Burkett from the University of Portsmouth, with a talk on 'One hundred years of fighting inequality in higher education: Access, belonging and struggle' and Dr Achala Gupta from the University of Southampton who will deliver a talk entitled 'Generative Artificial Intelligence as a mediator of (in)equalities: a call for co-curating the future landscape of higher education'.This conference is free of charge but advanced booking is required. A vegetarian/vegan lunch and hot drinks will be served. As this event is likely to book up, please cancel your place if you are no longer able to attend.
