More of the true greats of Western Australian association football will be inducted into the
Hall of Fame at a gala dinner presentation will be held at the Riverside room at Optus
Stadium on Saturday 7th November 2026.
It will be the seventh time that the Hall of Fame, which encompasses the Hall of Legends,
Hall of Champions, Hall of Merit and the Hall of Recognition, has held an induction
ceremony to pay tribute to the major contributors to the State’s rich history of the sport
which stretches well over 130 years.
In 2012 there was a world scoop when Sandra Brentnall became the first female footballer
to be inducted into a Hall of Legends.
The Hall of Fame has also recognised the significant international achievements of, , with
special awards at the Hall of Fame's 10th anniversary celebration in 2006.
Some of the Champion players who have already been honoured include former Socceroo
stars Robbie Dunn, Tony Franken, Gary Marocchi, Robert Zabica, Stand Lazaridis, Stan
Lazaridis, and Alistair Edwards plus WA's first football Olympian Con Purser. Also Ron
Adair, David Jones and Ray Ilott and former State greats John McInroy, Len Dundo, John
Davidson and Hugh Miller.
We are inviting the public to put names forward to who that would like to see inducted at the
next induction event to be held in November this year.
