Indiana NOW 2026 State Conference
About this Event
Indiana NOW heads to Northwest Indiana for an unapologetically joyful 2026 State Conference celebrating diversity, sisterhood, and action. In one of the most culturally diverse regions of our state, we’ll gather for a day that honors our past, energizes our present, and builds power for our future.
Northwest Indiana’s story is rooted in the Great Migration, labor and immigration history, and the maritime legacy of Lake Michigan -- forces that helped shape the rich racial, ethnic, and cultural diversity of the Region. That spirit will be at the heart of our conference as we celebrate the incredible women and allies whose work for gender equality reverberates across Indiana.
The conference will feature:
- a spill libations opening ceremony honoring our ancestors
- African-American, Indian, Polish, Mexican and Lebanese cuisine, and of course Indiana favorites, reflecting the vibrant cultures that help define Northwest Indiana
- an interactive how-to workshop on how we can legally work with our legislators
- fundraising activities including our Smash the Patriarchy piñata—take a whack for the PAC! and raffle items from our various chapters
- Indiana NOW State Council elections
- and more actions and guests to be announced.
Throughout the day, we’ll honor our elders and foremothers, celebrate today’s changemakers, and create space for connection, culture, organizing, and joy.
Join us in Chesterton, Indiana, for a conference that reflects the strength of our movement: diverse, unapologetic, rooted in history, committed to justice, and ready to build power together.
As per our by laws, *No membership meeting at any level of NOW shall require NOW members in good standing to pay a registration fee or any other fee in order to participate in the business events or activities of said meeting."
