Inclusive Sailing Camp for Young People with a Disability (Ages 14–22)
Bray Sailing Club | Thursday 11th & Friday 12th June | 9am to 11am
Come along and experience the thrill of sailing in a fun, safe and supportive environment at our two-day inclusive sailing camp. Open to young people aged 14 to 22 with a disability, this camp is all about building confidence, trying something new, and enjoying time on the water.
Taking place at Bray Sailing Club, each participant will be supported with a 1-to-1 instructor-to-student ratio, ensuring individual attention and a fully inclusive experience. The camp is suitable for complete beginners – no prior sailing experience is needed.
What to bring : ·
A wetsuit (a "shortie" wetsuit is usually adequate for summer sailing)
· Buoyancy aid (if they have one)
· Dinghy boots Old runners will do or buy the cheapest pair of runners you can get. Appropriate footwear is important and bare feet are not allowed! Please note that flip-flops and crocs are not considered to be suitable, footwear needs to be closed and secure.
· Swimming costume for under wetsuit
· Cagoule (lightweight waterproof top)
· We also recommend that sailors wear a pair of board shorts over their wetsuit to protect the wetsuit from snagging on the sharp bits of boats and getting ripped or torn
· If you arrive in your wetsuit, please ensure that you have a change of clothes with you to go home in.
· Sunscreen (applied before they arrive preferably)
· A cap/ sunhat
