Come join us on May 18th for a Timed Matchplay tournament at Star Chamber Arcade to kick off our Summer Slam Pinball Tournament Series.A matchplay tournament is broken into rounds. For each round, players play in groups of 3 or 4 on an assigned machine. Points are then given to each player for that round based on performance (7-5-3-1 pts for 1st-2nd-3rd-4th). Player groups and machines change between rounds, with players adding points to their total. The total number of rounds is unknown, but the final round must begin before 8:30 pm. After the final round, the total points will be used to rank players for results and determine our winners.
Costs:
Tournament Fee: $10. All of this goes to the cash prize pool. Please bring cash for the tournament fee (laws are weird)
Venue Entry Fee: $10. Star Chamber arcade has a flat $10 entry fee for tournament participants from the start of registration (6:00 pm) until the end of the tournament. All machines are set to free play, no quarters necessary.
Prizes:
The cash prize pool (from the tournament fee) will be split among the top three players as follows:
- First place: 60% of prize pool
- Second place: 30% of prize pool
- Third place: 10% of prize pool
Total prize pool is number of participants * $10
This tournament is being submitted for IFPA approval
Registration begins at 6:00 pm on Monday 5/18. Tournament starts at 6:30 pm.
