iNat Together at Freshkills Park

iNaturalist Together is a global campaign to bring people together and explore local ecology. Join Bonnie Nygard, an AmeriCorps member at Freshkills Park and iNaturalist Ambassador, for a guided walk of North Park Phase One. Whether you are a lifelong naturalist or just getting started, this program is open to everyone.

Materials will be provided: bug nets, binoculars, and magnifying glasses. If you have your own pair of binoculars, you are more than welcome to bring them.

Please download iNaturalist on a mobile device before attending this program and join the project iNat Together at Freshkills Park.

Accessibility: This tour will drive and stop at several spots in the park with minimal walking. The roads themselves can be uneven at times.

Plan Ahead: Be “tick aware” and wear long pants, closed-toed shoes, and insect repellent. Also wear a hat and bring water and a snack. This event will take place rain or shine, so come prepared!
