About the event:
Have you ever wondered what it takes to rehabilitate and release sick, injured, or orphaned native Pennsylvania Wildlife? Boasting the second largest wildlife hospital in PA, Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh treats over 130 different species every year! This program will give you a behind-the-scenes look at all it takes for our Wildlife Rehabilitators to care for anything from an owl to an opossum! Several live animal ambassadors will be joining us from the facility, but we won't know which ones until the day of the event! LOVE an element of surprise. ;)
From our partner, HARP:
Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (HARP) is one of Pennsylvania’s largest nonprofit organizations dedicated to the welfare of animals, pet owners, and the community. A registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (Tax ID: 25-0325750), HARP operates two low-cost, high-quality veterinary medical centers, treating over 6,500 animals and performing more than 7,000 spay and neuter surgeries annually. Beyond caring for domestic animals, HARP remains committed to indigenous species through its fully licensed Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, which treats over 4,000 sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife each year, including more than 2,300 mammals, 1,700 birds, and 50 reptiles. Donations to HARP are tax-deductible as permitted by law, helping to sustain its mission of compassion and care.
