Overview
Welcome to A Deep Dive into Adult ADHD: A Neurodiversity-Affirming Approach for Mental event! Join us at Plymouth Church for an insightful discussion on Adult ADHD. This training introduces participants to the neurodiversity paradigm and affirming approaches to working with individuals with ADHD. It explores the variations of ADHD presentations across the lifespan and across differing identities, dives deep into understanding executive functioning skills, presents therapeutic strategies and adaptations, ending with identifying a therapeutic framework for this population.

Meet the Speaker
Bobbi-Jo Molokken (she/her), LISW, CCTP, earned her master’s in social work from the University of Northern Iowa and practices as a mental health therapist in Decorah, Iowa, with Emotional Health Partners. She specializes in adult ADHD and relational trauma, taking an integrative approach that incorporates IFS, polyvagal theory, brainspotting, and mindfulness-based techniques. Bobbi-Jo is dedicated to providing neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed, holistic, LGBTQ+ affirming, and anti-oppressive care, tailoring each client’s therapeutic experience to their unique needs.
With over 16 years of clinical experience, Bobbi-Jo has worked in diverse settings beyond private practice. During her seven years at a college counseling center, she initiated a highly successful ADHD support group for students and regularly presented on mental health related topics including ADHD, to students, employees and the community. As a former Adult Mental Health First Aid facilitator and Prime for Life instructor, she has empowered countless individuals to navigate the complexities of mental health. Her professional journey began in the substance use field, where she helped establish and maintain the Dubuque/Delaware County Drug Court Program.
Bobbi-Jo’s passion for ADHD education is both professional and deeply personal. Diagnosed with ADHD as an adult and as a parent of ADHD children, she is a committed advocate for neurodiversity-affirming care. In 2022, she founded Embrace the Muchness LLC, an ADHD Coaching & Education venture offering executive functioning coaching, professional consultation, and training programs to empower ADHD individuals and their supporters with knowledge and tools to navigate a world not built for different kinds of brains.
Continuing Education Credits
7 contact hours will be earned. The training should meet the CEU requirements for the following board:
