About this event
South Carolina gardeners of all experience levels are invited to join Clemson Extension Horticulture Agent Nicole Goodman for a morning dedicated to pollinators and the Great Southeast Pollinator Census (GSEPC), a regional citizen-science project.
We'll begin by exploring the basics of pollinator ecology, including habitat design and how you can make your yard better support native bees and other beneficial insects.
Next, you'll learn about the Great Southeast Pollinator Census, the official sampling protocol, how to recognize the different pollinator groups, and how to record your observations.
Then you'll head outside to our office pollinator garden for a hands-on pollinator count tutorial using the official GSEPC method.
Nicole will finish the morning indoors by walking you through the process of submitting your observations to the GSEPC and answering your pollinator questions.

Clemson Extension is required by the USDA to offer program participants the opportunity to self-identify. By voluntarily providing us with your demographic information, we are able to more accurately document the impacts we are making to better the lives of the citizens of South Carolina.
Extension classes and events may be canceled at any time due to low enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. If a paid program is canceled, full refunds will be issued. Similar programs are often offered again at a later date.
For individuals requiring accommodations, please contact Clemson Extension Horticulture at [email protected] as early as possible prior to the event to help ensure availability.
